Fashion Thoughts

Some things I have figured out to make buying clothes a little easier!.

1. I have found an awesome tailor. It is the best thing I have ever done! A few alterations makes all the difference in the fit and look of an outfit. It would be nice to be able to have all your clothes custom made but that isn't my reality. By having off the rack clothes professionally tailored it is like you are wearing custom clothing. Some better stores provide this as a service and some stores like Von Maur provide it as a free service. So being petite doesn't any longer mean you can't shop all departments.

2. Look for solid colors and smaller patterns to make the most of your height. these make you visually appear longer and leaner.  When wanting to add bolder patterns try and have them run vertically rather than horizontally or use them in accessorizing your outfit, this things will help make the most of our smaller frames.

3. Look for stores that sell things in lengths even if they don't sell petite. Several do now Abercrombie, Black and White, Ann Taylor, Express, The Limited, Forever 21, and H & M are just a few that come to mind that I have great luck at!

4. Last but no least, I have found that some longer tops make great sun dresses and beach coverups. Who says a top always has to be a top when on you it could be a dress. Open up your mind to possibilities of using an item of clothing in a different way. Not only does it eliminate the need for alterations for the most part. It makes your ready to wear more custom.

Lots of challenges dressing as a petite but with every challenge there is a solution and these are just a few of the ones I use regularly,. Hope some of these might help for you!! Keep searching for new ways, places and ideas to make dressing easier for petites and remember Petite Girls Rock!!!!!!!
